In a context of standardization of leisure offerings, Wecandoo needed to make visible the uniqueness of artisanal trades and the value of the lived experience, beyond a simple activity description.

Mission Context

Wecandoo is a platform dedicated to immersive artisanal workshops. It allows the general public to discover manual trades and create an object alongside professional artisans.

The expressed challenge was to better highlight the artisanal trades offered on the platform and to tangibly convey the richness of the experience during the workshops. Video and photography were identified as priority levers to make the craftsmanship, the precision of the gesture, and the authenticity of the artisans perceptible.

Diagnosis

Several limitations were identified in the existing presentation of the workshops:

  1. Difficulty in conveying the intangible value of the artisanal experience through traditional descriptive formats.

  2. Lack of projection for future participants regarding the actual flow of a workshop.

  3. Heterogeneity of perception among the different trades offered, despite a comparable level of demand.

  4. Risk of reducing the workshops to a leisure activity, without sufficient emphasis on professional expertise.

Implemented Solution

Éclats designed a visual content system focused on the real experience of the workshop.

The chosen strategy is based on an immersive and documentary approach, prioritizing:

  • Capturing gestures, materials, and manufacturing steps.

  • Highlighting the artisan as an expert and transmitter of knowledge.

  • A visual coherence between the different workshops to strengthen the overall identity of the platform.

Video and photography are used as tools for understanding and projection, rather than as mere promotional materials.

Outline of the intervention

  1. Analysis of the workshops to be highlighted

Selection and understanding of the specificities of each trade and each proposed experience.

  2. Definition of the narrative angle

Choice of a treatment focused on the process, the gesture, and the transmission rather than solely on the final result.

  3. Content production

Creation of videos and photographs on site

  4. Harmonization of deliverables

Adjustment of formats and visual rendering for consistent use on the platform and communication materials.

Observed results

  • Improvement in the readability of the workshops and their flow for visitors to the platform.

  • Better perception of the level of craftsmanship and expertise of the artisans.

  • Strengthening of coherence among the different trades offered, despite their diversity.

  • The produced content serves as durable, reusable materials for presenting the workshops and for new audiences to understand the offerings.

The use of video and photography as strategic tools for clarification and enhancement allows for making a complex artisanal experience visible without resorting to commercial discourse.
